Our Quester Groups organise visits to interesting places.
Normally after the visit we socialise over a lunch or tea.
Members take it in turn to investigate and organise visits to places, often not always accessible to individuals. This is not very time consuming but keeps the groups active.
Quester 5 had a fascinating guided tour of the Royal Logistic Corps Museum earlier this year and it just so happened that information sent to us about their lectures coincided with the cancellation of our September planned visit. We therefore made up a party at the last minute to attend the talk on the Battle of Jutland, which was fascinating, and we were looked after so well. Refreshments were included in the price of the ticket and they organised reserved seating for us as a group. I would recommend their programme of lectures to all u3a members or to other Quester groups for an organised visit to the museum - entry is free but it is well worthwhile paying for a guided tour. It is run by volunteers and deserves supporting as a local amenity.
