Classic Novels

The members of this group enjoy reading those novels which have stood the test of time and can be regarded as “classics.”

Our past reads have included Jane Austen's "Persuasion", Muriel Sparks' "The Girls of Slender Means” George Orwell's “1984”, “The Go-Between” by L. P. Hartley and Margaret Mitchell’s, "Gone with the Wind” and finally in November we discussed “The Pursuit of Love” by Nancy Mitford.

We try to meet on the last Wednesday of every month in each other’s homes. There was no meeting in December. Our book in January was “Can you Forgive Her” by Anthony Trollope (the first in the Palliser series).

We welcome suggestions of novels for future months.
