Contemporary Spirituality

Spirituality 'helps individuals to search for the meaning and purpose of life, and helps them to experience hope, love, inner peace, comfort and support. It can also be described as that divine essence within which gives meaning to our life. It refers to the universal human need for love, hope, a sense of belonging, value and dignity. It may or may not involve religious beliefs and practices.

Peter Wilson, Poole Society of Friends, 2021

The group meets on the second Thursday of every month in a member's home in Kings Worthy from 2.30-4 pm. At the end of each meeting, one of us volunteers to lead the next session on a particular topic or theme they are particularly interested in.

We begin each meeting with a quiet period of prayer, contemplation or meditation. This is a new approach for the group, so we are very much finding our way!
