Wine Appreciation 3

Wine Appreciation 3 is looking for a few more members. We tend to meet late afternoon and evening at members’ homes, usually on a Thursday. At the moment a sitting is around half a dozen people and half a dozen wines to taste, though not necessarily consume fully. We keep arrangements simple with the host providing a few suitable snacks and water for in between tastings, and costs of wines simply being split informally as necessary.
We would be pleased to accommodate more members as the bottles we have can easily be spread to more people. The only real constraint is space as we meet in people’s homes. A group of 10 would be good and from that attendance might sit around 8 at a session, given that not everyone can attend every time. We have met outdoors a couple of times in the better weather so that might ease if there would otherwise be a squeeze.
Tastings can range from grape variety to countries of origin to styles and onto wines that members might enjoy to present to others as they are their own favourites. The January tasting was thematic on the subject of the role of wine in revolution. Whatever we do it is for light-hearted education in the spirit of u3a.
